 BMI indicates that someone is normal weight, overweight, or obese. What is BMI chart? BMI chart is created to help people to find out the degree of obesity. It also helps to make the diagnosis of the various types of obesity.

It is also considered to be a great tool for determining the nutritional needs, for example at the beginning of pregnancy it is a useful tool which can be used to track your dietary needs during pregnancy. One of the most important aspects of a healthy diet is to reduce your total calories to an amount so that it does not harm your body. This can be achieved by monitoring your BMI level. In order to calculate the BMI first we need to measure your weight in kilograms, and then divide it by the square of your height in meters. 

The formula is:

Weight in kg / (Height in m)2

For example, if your weight is 70 kg and your height is 1.70 meters then the BMI is calculated as follows:

70/ (1.7*1.7) = 30.1, so your BMI is greater than 30 and you are obese

If your height is 1.65 meters then your BMI is 25.35 and you are overweight.

As mentioned earlier, it is one of the most important aspects to monitor your body weight at regular intervals to make sure your weight is maintained within the safe range. It can be done by measuring your weight daily or weekly. It is better to keep a written log of your weight in order to track your changes in weight. One can write down the weight by measuring the difference from the weight before starting your weight loss program. The difference will provide you with a good idea whether you are losing weight or not. Also one can measure your waist size. The guidelines for proper waist size in women are below:

A good way to measure your waist size is to put the tape on your stomach, the center of the rib is the correct size. This figure is also known as the waist to hip ratio or the midsection proportion. While measuring your waist just follow the guidelines mentioned above and make sure that the tape has not slipped below the belly button.

Another important and crucial part of one’s body is one’s core. This is a vital muscle which holds your entire body in alignment. The core muscles are the abdominal muscles, the external and internal obliques and the rectus abdominis. The primary function of the core muscles is to absorb or dissipate the forces applied on the body. There are many reasons why our core muscles are neglected. These are the reasons why our core muscles have failed to live up to the expectations of these muscles. The list of reasons to develop one’s core muscles can be found below:

  • Improves posture and alignment
  • Keeps the entire body safe from injury
  • Strengthens the back
  • Lubricates and strengthens the spine
  • Is necessary for abdominal bracing
  • Keeps your pelvic area safe
  • Is crucial when it comes to the function of the lower back
  • Improves and improves performance

I would like to share with you one of my favorite core training workouts. Head over to my favorite link to exercise for the following program:

1. Start your program with a 5 minute warm up. Choose any exercises that you want to burn out extra calories. Examples are jumping jacks, marching in place, side leg lifts, low-to-high lunges etc. These burns fat and make your body warm up.

2. Do these 5 exercises twice and rest for 30-60 seconds in between each.

3. Do them again 3 more times and then choose your core strengthening exercises, i.e. plank, bird dog, pushup, pull-up, etc.

This workout burns 400+ calories. I use this workout for my clients who want to gain muscle and shape but at the same time want to cut down on weight. It can help them build muscle while burning fat. This type of workout is not meant for people who are looking to gain weight.
