However, you can lose weight without doing these things. Most people who want to lose weight do it because they want to look better, feel better and their clothes don't fit the same way. 

These changes may look simple but they are much easier said than done. You don't have to eat less or go on a diet to lose weight - we all know that doesn't work. Simply by changing your lifestyle a little, you can start feeling healthier, and look better, regardless of the number on the scale.

Many of us struggle with excess weight and weight loss because we do not have what is required to achieve it. I am talking about time and energy, of course the pounds do not weigh as much! 

However, there are many methods, diets, and diets. I myself have attempted most of them, and I think I have a better idea on what methods work and what don’t. 

In the past, I have also had a problem with the dieting cycle, which seems to be a common complaint among many who have been overweight. The cycle, if you don’t know what it is, is when you attempt to lose weight, you do not succeed, you gain back the weight and lose again, and so on. Well let me help you get out of the cycle, and here are tips, that I have found to work for most.

Take it slowly

The first thing, is take it slowly. It was a little surprising to me at first when the only weight loss I ever lost was when I took it very slow, and I am talking about 2-3 lbs per week.

Do not give up

Now that is something many people fail at, they can only see it as a failure, if they have tried many methods and those did not work. There are so many methods that can help, and you need to pick one that is going to work the best for you. I found, and I thought I was going to fail, but a doctor friend of mine recommended that weightloss would always start with a healthy diet, therefore I decided to start with what would be best for me. 

Another friend recommended that I do yoga for strength and flexibility. So I started and I was surprised at how good I felt, I thought I would be sore, but I was not, and after months of doing it, I could lift weights that I could not have done before.

Change your expectations

I said it was difficult the first time, but I do believe in you.

Don't expect everything to be easy

Be grateful for whatever is happening to you, because, if not for you being overweight, there are millions of people who have to deal with obesity and even it is hard to lose weight. It is easy to look at everyone else, than look at yourself, and try to appreciate the things you do have.

Don't deprive yourself of everything

For me, sometimes I did not eat because I was not hungry or sometimes I ate more than I should have, and I could not see the difference in weight, and I could only see it as a waste, but I came to realize, that what I had was food that made me feel happy and loved, and so I decided to eat for my happiness, and weight loss for me just became a part of my regular routine.

Have a routine

I find, if there is no routine, I tend to skip meals, and I would not see any results in the way I ate. And sometimes I would eat, when I was not hungry, just so I would feel like eating.

If it is one thing I have learned, it is that, in order to make an improvement in any area of my life, I need to have a plan.

How do you stay motivated?

I'm a bit of a workaholic. I'm always working towards the end goal, which is getting my life to feel better. My goal is not for weight loss, but simply to get my work and home life back together.

How do you deal with negative self-talk?

Sometimes I beat myself up. The first time I lost weight, I was really excited, and I did not expect to see the results because for years I thought, I would never get rid of this weight. But when I looked in the mirror, there I was, a beautiful thin woman! What a feeling!

I thought I would never lose this weight and be skinny, and now I am the most beautiful skinny woman I have ever seen. I was not thinking in a negative way, I was excited by how good I look and how my life is transforming because of my healthy lifestyle.

But now I'm not in that stage where I look in the mirror and I'm happy. I look at my face and I think, what is wrong with me? Why did I gain weight back when I was so happy? So I get to the point where I think I am a failure and then I start to think of all the fat people. Then my mind starts to go back to where it started.

How do you deal with it?

I have developed a mantra that I say to myself so often. I tell myself, you are beautiful. I have a life you have only dreamed of.
